Climate action planning is the broadest application of our bioregional approach, because true greenhouse gas reduction involves all levels of human interaction with energy and ecology. With this in mind, we work with cities and counties to create climate action plans for greenhouse gas reduction that result in a realistic, climate-appropriate, sustainable vision for your community.

Our project team, led by INDIGO Principal Jonathan Hammond, AIA, and by UCD Professor Deb Niemeier, Ph.D., P.E., offers the deep planning and technical experience necessary to meet the expectations of state and local enforcement agencies, local decision-makers, and your community. We utilize an 8 step process to produce a clearly defined, easy to understand document that tackles the greenhouse gas reduction challenges set forth in the AB 32 Scoping Plan, SB 375, and the 2009 CEQA amendments. Our process produces a climate action plan that encompasses all tiers of existing and proposed measures and policies.
