This apartment building prototype is a model for housing of the future in the San Francisco Bay Area. This ZNE 6-story mixed-use building provides energy to the grid during peak hours and is self-sustaining off-the-grid. The project was funded by and ranked #1 statewide in the California Energy Commission’s Next EPIC Challenge. It features a rooftop garden, makes use of natural light and air and has the most efficient HVAC and water heating available.
