Yolo County Animal Shelter
The Yolo County Animal Shelter is slated to be a ZNE complex comprised of several wings opening into interior courtyards that provide the building with plenty of natural light and natural ventilation. Efficient cleaning systems conserve water, while rain water and gray water are harvested and recycled on site. Efficient systems are augmented by photovoltaics on the roof. This building will be a refuge for animals and the people who care for them.
