Yuba County Sheriff’s Complex
This adaptive reuse project remodeled an existing building to provide better security, emergency response and extended survivability. The renewed facility places critical operations on the second floor, a resilient design measure in a flood-prone region. Additionally, day-lighting, passive cooling and an elevated generator grid are integral to this remodel, making it possible for the building to operate off-the-grid in case of extended power outage. Entry stairs offer both visual appeal and protection from vehicle attack.
